Dr. Mailapur has practiced general and weight loss surgery in the Huntsville area since 2004. Bariatric surgery is his specialty, and he also performs a full range of general surgical procedures.

We perform bariatric surgery at facilities holding the highest credentialing available from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). We're affiliated with Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center, a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) accredited center through the American College of Surgeons.

COE facilities are evaluated annually against criteria including annual surgical volume, the number and experience of surgeons, complication and mortality rates, certifications, length of program existence, and the strength of the multidisciplinary care team.
